I am an editor. I am a reporter. I am a blogger. I am a page designer. I am improving my photography skills. I am learning how to be a better videographer.

I have completed two formal internships, each in the second half of the summer. I freelanced for The Miami Herald Broward Neighbors section the summer before my freshman year of college. After my sophomore year, I interned at the Jewish Journal, a weekly based in Deerfield Beach, Fla. that is part of Forum Publishing Group. The following summer, before my junior year, I worked as a metro intern at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
I will work as a metro intern at The Miami Herald this summer.
For my first semester at UM, I wrote for news and EDGE, the arts and entertainment section. By the second semester, I was named assitant news editor and the next academic year I moved up to news editor. I currently serve as editor in chief.
I have participated in two University of Miami faculty-led study abroad courses, each during the first half of the summer. After freshman year, I traveled across Spain for six weeks, studying design and photographer with Randy Stano. The class Web site may be found here.
The next summer, before my junior year, I went to China for six weeks as part of a feature writing trip organized by Bruce Garrison. Each student wrote stories for a class Web site and contributed to a class blog.
